WELCOME
Since beginning my academic journey in 2018, I have consciously dedicated my time to learn languages and what factors are involved in the cultures of human beings.
I’m grateful for Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) which has allowed me to encounter parts of myself that I did not know I was capable or even had a name. I am a multipotentialite, who is passionate about learning, languages, cultures, and absolutely anything arts.

PERSONAL STATEMENT
The desire for learning, passion for human culture, and ability to respect an individual’s privacy are qualities an interpreter and translator must possess. I have that “learn something new every day” spirit. As a young girl, I was taught Spanish and English almost simultaneously. Both languages, I can speak fluently.
My personal goal is to be able to use and know more than 4 languages. Currently, I am studying Korean as a requirement for an Asian Studies minor. I only know Korean like a kindergarten or elementary student would, for now. This further motivates me to achieve the most native fluency I can.
With this goal in mind, I plan to Study Aboard in Korea in the future. With a full immersion in this culture and environment, I have nothing else but to absorb their language and community. This works exactly the same with learning Spanish, French, or ASL. These are the languages I am aware and have some knowledge of. In order to be a successful interpreter and translator, I have to continue to master these languages.
As a multipotentialite, I am confident that with the Interdisciplinary Studies Bachelor’s degree can catapult and send me off to various places or positions in the world. Having an understanding in Communications and Humanities, I would perform with a sense of respect to any individuals need despite their backgrounds.
